Wide pants, a striped shirt, a baseball cap: walk down the street and you'll see what's in fashion.

넓은 바지, 줄무늬 셔츠, 야구 모자, 길을 걸어 보라. 그러면 무엇이 유행인지 보일 것이다. 

 

Teens, like adults, tend to follow popular trends.

어른들처럼 십 대들도 대중적인 유행을 따르는 경향이 있다. 

 

That's fine if you're happy with the current style, but you can also create your own style if you're not.

여러분이 현재의 스타일에 만족한다면 괜찮지만, 만족하지 않는다면 자신만의 스타일을 만들 수도 있다. 

 

Think of Steve Jobs, and a figure of a man wearing a black shirt and blue jeans might pop into your head.

Steve Jobs를 생각해보면 검은 셔츠에 청바지를 입은 남자의 모습이 여러분의 머리에 떠오를 것이다. 

 

Likewise, you can showcase your own charm and individuality with your own unique style, which can become a part of your personal image: a signature style.

마찬가지로 여러분은 자신만의 매력과 개성을 자신만의 독특한 스타일로 돋보이게 할 수 있고, 그것은 여러분의 개인적인 이미지의 한 부분이 될 수 있다. 그것이 바로 시그니처 스타일이다. 

 

Here are some tips from three teenage fashion leaders on how to experiment and find your own style.

What is your favorite color? Do you often wear fashion items in that color?

As for me, my favorite color is green, but I felt it did not go well with my skin tone, so I used to avoid wearing it.

저의 경우, 제가 제일 좋아하는 색상은 초록색이지만, 그것이 제 피부색과 어울리지 않는다고 생각해서 그것을 입는 것을 피하곤 했습니다. 

 

One day, I realized that green has many shades, so I experimented with various shades of green and eventually, I found that a deep green helps me look great.

어느 날, 저는 초록색에는 많은 색조가 있다는 것을 깨달아서, 다양한 색조의 초록색으로 실험을 했고 결국 짙은 초록색이 저를 멋져 보이게 도와준다는 것을 발견했습니다. 

 

If you like a certain color, you can try various shades like I did, and find one that suits you.

만약 여러분이 특정한 색상을 좋아한다면, 제가 한 것처럼 다양한 색조를 시도해 볼 수 있고, 여러분에게 잘 어울리는 색조를 찾을 수 있을 것입니다.

 

Once you decide on a color, you may discover the color wheel useful to find other colors that go well together.

일단 색상을 정하면, 여러분은 잘 어울리는 다른 색상을 찾기 위해 색상환이 유용하다는 것을 알게 될 것입니다. 

 

There are three simple ways to use the color wheel: combining analogous colors, choosing complementary colors, and mixing together analogous and complementary colors.

색상환을 사용하는 세 가지 간단한 방법이 있습니다. 그것은 유사색을 조합하는 것, 보색을 고르는 것, 그리고 유사색과 보색을 함께 섞는 것입니다. 

 

Combining analogous colors is one of the easiest ways of matching colors that will give you an elegant look, for example, a yellow shirt on top of green pants.

유사색을 조합하는 것은, 예를 들어 초록색 바지 위에 노란색 셔츠를 입는 것과 같이 여러분의 모습을 우아하게 해 줄 색상을 매치하는 가장 쉬운 방법들 중 하나입니다. 

 

Choosing complementary colors, like wearing a green skirt with red shoes, creates a bold impression.

초록색 치마에 빨간색 신발을 신는 것처럼 보색을 선택하는 것은 뚜렷한 인상을 만듭니다. 

 

Choosing a mixture of analogous and complementary colors together, called split complementary colors, can be tricky but results in a calmer look than a combination of complementary colors.

분할 보색이라고 불리는 유사색과 보색의 혼합을 고르는 것은 까다롭지만 보색의 조합보다 더 차분한 모습의 결과를 낼 수 있습니다. 

 

Unless your signature style is to wear colors that clash, using the color wheel will help you choose colors that are natural and pleasing to the eye.

여러분의 시그니처 스타일이 어울리지 않는 색상을 입는 것이 아니라면, 색상환을 사용하는 것이 눈에 보기 자연스럽고 만족스러운 색상을 고르는 데 도움이 될 것입니다.

I spend a lot of time at school in my uniform, so I don't pay too much attention to what I wear.

Putting on clothes in layers like this keeps my style fresh even though I don't have a lot of clothes.

Mixing and matching clothes is a lot of fun!

My point is: If you have a favorite fashion item, and it goes well with your other clothes, you can create a new outfit every single day.

I spend a lot of time choosing my eye glasses because they can be an important part of my look.

When I choose frames, I think of my face shape.

People tend to make purchasing decisions about frames in terms of material or color, but not many think about their eyebrows.
