Now, you should make a list of occupations based on your self-assessment test results.

For each job on your list, you should do some careful research in order to learn about the occupation's educational requirements, outlook, and earnings potential.

My Job-shadowing Experience at X-Music

X-Music에서의 나의 직업 현장 체험 

 

 

 

 

I am a music lover, so yesterday I job-shadowed my uncle who is a music producer at X-Music.

나는 음악을 매우 좋아해서 어제 X-Music의 음악 프로듀서인 삼촌을 따라다니며 직업 현장 체험을 했다. 

 

I left home very excited.

나는 매우 설레는 마음으로 집을 나섰다. 

 

Not only was I getting the day off of school, but I was also getting a chance to see in person how a music album is made.

나는 학교에 가지 않아도 되었을 뿐만 아니라, 음악 앨범이 어떻게 만들어지는지 직접 볼 수 있는 기회를 얻었다. 

 

The studio was full of the latest equipment, whose size and complexity amazed me.

스튜디오는 최신 장비들로 가득 차 있었는데, 나는 그 규모와 복잡함에 놀랐다. 

 

My uncle gave me a short explanation of the equipment.

삼촌은 나에게 그 장비들에 대하여 간략히 설명해 주셨다. 

 

He also explained what needs to be done to create an album, from planning the album to arranging, recording, and editing the music.

그분은 또한 음반 기획에서 음악 편곡, 녹음, 편집에 이르기까지 앨범 하나를 만들기 위해서 무엇이 행해져야 하는지 설명해 주셨다. 

 

More than half of what he said sounded like a foreign language to me.

그분이 말씀해 주신 것 중 절반 이상은 내게 외국어처럼 들렸다.

 

We headed to the recording booth, where two singers were recording music for their rock band.

우리는 녹음실로 향했는데, 그곳에서는 두 명의 가수가 자신들의 록 밴드 음악을 녹음하고 있었다. 

 

Outside of the booth, the composer and a technician were waiting for us.

녹음실 밖에서, 작곡가와 음향 기술자가 우리를 기다리고 있었다. 

 

My uncle sat down in the middle next to the composer when the recording started.

녹음이 시작되자 삼촌이 작곡가 옆 가운데 자리에 앉으셨다. 

 

It didn't take long, however, until it was stopped by my uncle, then by the composer and the technician.

They didn't like this or that about the music and had the singers repeat the same line again and again, all of which sounded perfect to me.

그들은 음악의 이곳저곳이 마음에 들지 않아서 가수들에게 똑같은 소절을 계속 반복해서 부르게 하였는데, 나에게는 그 모든 게 완벽하게 들렸다. 

 

When everyone got exhausted, my uncle cheered them up with occasional funny stories.

It took a whole day to finish one song!

노래 한 곡 녹음을 끝내는 데 하루 종일이 걸렸다! 

 

My day at X-Music helped me realize that love of music is not the only thing required to become a music producer: patience, leadership, and communication skills on top of a good ear for music are important skills to learn, too. 

X-Music에서의 하루는 내게 음악에 대한 사랑이 음악 프로듀서가 되기 위해 요구되는 유일한 것이 아니라는 점을 깨닫도록 도와주었다. 즉 음악적 감각 이외에도 인내심과 리더십, 그리고 의사소통 기술도 배워야 할 중요한 기술들이다. 

 

I'll have to come up with a plan to develop these skills.

나는 이러한 기술들을 계발할 계획을 세워야 할 것이다.
