Call Someone You Love

당신이 사랑하는 누군가에게 전화하세요

 

New York had many pay phones on its streets.

뉴욕에는 길거리에 공중전화가 많이 있었다.

 

However, nobody really used them.

그러나 아무도 그것들을 실제로 사용하지 않았다.

 

One day, a man came up with an idea.

어느 날, 한 남자에게 좋은 아이디어가 떠올랐다.

 

He stuck coins to one of the phones.

그는 공중전화 하나에 동전들을 붙였다.

 

He also put up a sign that said, "Call Someone You Love."

그는 또한 “당신이 사랑하는 누군가에게 전화하세요.”라고 쓰인 표지판을 설치했다.

 

Soon, many people were using the phone.

곧, 많은 사람들이 그 전화기를 사용했다.

 

When they were talking to someone whom they loved, they didn't stop smiling.

그들이 사랑하는 누군가와 이야기하고 있을 때, 그들은 미소 짓는 것을 멈추지 않았다.

 

His idea became a big success.

그의 아이디어는 커다란 성공이었다.

 

During the day, all the coins disappeared.

낮 동안, 모든 동전들이 사라졌다.

 

The man was very happy because his small idea gave happiness to many people.

그 남자는 자신의 작은 아이디어가 많은 사람에게 행복을 가져다주었기 때문에 매우 행복했다.

 

The Red Arrow Man

빨간 화살표 청년

 

A few years ago, the maps at bus stops in Seoul were very confusing.

몇 년 전, 서울의 버스 정류장의 지도는 매우 혼란스러웠다.

 

They didn't have enough information.

지도에는 충분한 정보가 없었다.

 

People had to ask others to explain the maps.

사람들은 다른 사람들에게 지도를 설명해 달라고 요청해야 했다.

 

"Where is this bus stop on the map? Does this bus go to Gwanghwamun?"

“이 버스 정류장은 지도에 어디 있는 건가요? 이 버스가 광화문으로 가나요?”

 

Many people often took the wrong bus and wasted their time.

많은 사람들이 자주 버스를 잘못 타서 시간을 낭비하곤 했다.

 

One day, a young man decided to solve this problem.

어느 날, 한 청년이 이 문제를 해결하기로 결심했다.

 

He bought lots of red arrow stickers.

그는 빨간색 화살표 스티커를 많이 샀다.

 

Every day he rode his bicycle around the city and stuck the stickers on the bus maps.

매일 그는 자전거를 타고 서울 시내를 돌아다니며 버스 지도에 스티커를 붙였다.

 

Nobody asked him to do this.

아무도 그 청년에게 이 일을 하라고 요청하지 않았다.

 

He just wanted to help others.

그는 단지 다른 사람들을 돕고 싶었다.

 

Thanks to his effort, people could understand the maps easily and save time

그의 노력 덕분에, 사람들은 지도를 쉽게 이해하고 시간을 절약할 수 있었다.
