Scene 1: In a room

장면 1: 방 안에서

(Prince comes in, jumping around.)

(왕자가 이리저리 뛰어다니며 등장한다)

 

Princess: Stop jumping around, honey.

공주: 여보, 주변을 뛰어다니지 마세요.

 

Prince: Well, I just can’t stop.

왕자: 저, 나는 단지 멈출 수 없을 뿐이에요.

 

Princess: You’re not a frog anymore.

공주: 당신은 이제 개구리가 아니에요.

 

Prince: What’s wrong with you? You don’t go down to the pond these days.

왕자: 당신한테 무슨 문제가 있어요? 요즘 당신은 연못으로 내려가지도 않잖아요.

 

Princess: I don’t like it when you jump around in the room.

공주: 나는 당신이 방 안에서 이리저리 뛰어다니는 게 마음에 안 들어요.

 

Go out to kill monsters and save our people.

나가서 괴물들을 죽이고 우리 백성을 구하세요.

 

Prince: I don’t want to go out and kill anything.

왕자: 나는 밖에 나가서 아무것도 죽이고 싶지 않아요.

 

I just feel like running away.

나는 단지 멀리 뛰어다니고 싶을 뿐이오.

 

(Picking up a book) Listen! “They lived happily ever after. The end.”

(책을 집어 들고) 들어 봐요! “그들은 그 후로 행복하게 살았다. 끝.”

 

I’m living my life as the book says, but we’re not happy. What’s the problem?

나는 책에 말한 것처럼 내 인생을 살고 있지만, 우리는 행복하지 않아요. 뭐가 문제일까요?

 

Princess: What’s the problem? There are hundreds of problems!

공주: 뭐가 문제냐고요? 수백 가지 문제가 있어요!

 

Sometimes I think we were better off when you were still a frog.

가끔 나는 당신이 아직 개구리일 때가 더 잘 살지 않았나 생각해요.

 

Prince: Still a frog .... Yes! That’s it!(Goes out)

왕자: 아직 개구리라.... 그래! 바로 그거요!(퇴장한다)

 

Scene 2: On the mountain

장면 2: 산 위에서

Prince: (To himself) I need to find the witch, who will turn me back into a frog.

왕자: (혼잣말로) 나는 마녀를 찾아야 해. 그녀가 나를 다시 개구리로 바꿔 줄 거야.

 

(Shouting) Ms. Witch, Ms. Witch. Where are you? Please help me!

(소리치며) 마녀님, 마녀님. 어디 계세요? 저 좀 도와주세요!

 

Witch 1: (Coming out of the house) Hi, Prince. How are you feeling?

마녀 1: (집 밖으로 나오며) 안녕, 왕자님. 기분이 어때요?

 

Prince: I’m glad to meet you. I’m the Frog Prince.

왕자: 당신을 만나서 기뻐요. 저는 개구리 왕자예요.

 

I hope you can turn me back into a frog so I can live happily ever after.

저는 당신이 저를 다시 개구리로 바꿔줘서 제가 앞으로 행복하게 살 수 있게 되기를 원해요.

 

Witch 1: Frog Prince, you say? That’s funny.

마녀 1: 개구리 왕자라고 했어요? 그거 웃기군요.

 

You don’t look like a frog. Well, it doesn’t matter.

당신은 개구리처럼 보이지 않아요. 음, 그건 중요하지 않아요.

 

If you’re a prince, you’re a prince.

당신이 왕자라면, 왕자인 거죠.

 

And I won’t let you save Snow White.

그리고 나는 당신이 백설 공주를 구하도록 놔두지 않을 거예요.

 

Here, eat the rest of this apple.

여기, 이 사과의 나머지를 먹어요.

 

Prince: No, thank you. That’s not what I want! (Runs away)

왕자: 고맙지만 됐어요. 그건 제가 원하는 게 아니에요! (도망간다)

 

(Prince and Witch 2 come in.)

(왕자와 마녀 2가 등장한다.)

 

Prince: Ms. Witch, Ms. Witch. Where are you? Please help me! I’m the Frog ....

왕자: 마녀님, 마녀님. 어디 계세요? 저를 좀 도와주세요! 저는 개구리‧‧‧.

 

Witch 2: If you’re a frog, I’m the King of France.

마녀 2: 당신이 개구리라면 나는 프랑스의 왕이오.

 

Prince: No, I’m not a frog. I’m the Frog Prince.

왕자: 아니요, 저는 개구리가 아니에요. 저는 개구리 왕자예요.

 

But I need a witch to turn me back into a frog so I can live happily ever after. Can you do it?

하지만 저를 다시 개구리로 바꿔 줘서 제가 앞으로 행복하게 살 수 있게 해 줄 마녀가 필요해요. 그렇게 해 주실 수 있나요?

 

Witch 2: Let’s talk about it inside. I will serve you a delicious lunch. Come in.

마녀 2: 안에서 그것에 관해 이야기해 봅시다. 내가 당신에게 맛있는 점심을 대접할게요. 들어와요.

 

Prince: Thank you for inviting me.

왕자: 저를 초대해 주셔서 감사합니다.

 

Oh, this house is made of cookies and candies.

오, 이 집은 과자와 사탕으로 만들어져 있네요.

 

Wait a minute. Do you know any children by the name of Hansel and Gretel?

잠깐만요. 당신은 헨젤과 그레텔이라는 이름의 아이들을 혹시 알아요?

 

Witch 2: Yes, Prince, I do.

마녀 2: 그래요, 왕자님, 알고 있어요.

 

(With her mouth watering) They are not fat enough yet, but you are ....

(그녀가 군침을 흘리면서) 그 애들은 아직 충분히 살이 찌지 않았지만, 당신은‧‧‧.

 

(Prince runs away and finds a fairy.)

(왕자는 도망치다가 요정을 발견한다.)

 

Prince: I’m glad to meet you, Ms. Fairy. I am the Frog Prince.

왕자: 만나게 되어 기쁩니다, 요정님. 저는 개구리 왕자예요.

 

Could you turn me back into a frog so I can live happily ever after?

저를 다시 개구리로 바꿔 앞으로 행복하게 살 수 있게 해 주실 수 있나요?

 

Fairy: Well, I’m on my way to see Cinderella, but I’ll give it a try.

요정: 음, 저는 신데렐라를 만나러 가는 길이지만, 한번 해 볼게요.

 

It’s my first time, you know.

아시다시피 이건 제가 처음으로 해 보는 거예요.

 

(Fairy turns Prince into a wheel.)

(요정이 왕자를 바퀴로 바꾼다.)

 

Oops! Sorry, but don’t worry. Everything will be okay.

이런! 미안하지만 걱정하지 마세요. 모든 게 잘 될 거예요.

 

Prince: (To himself) Oh, what a fool I’ve been!

왕자: (혼잣말로) 오, 내가 얼마나 바보였던가!

 

I want to be sitting at home with the Princess, living happily ever after.

앞으로 행복하게 살면서 집에서 공주와 함께 앉아 있고 싶구나.

 

But instead, I’m stuck here under this cart and I’ll live unhappily ever after.

하지만 대신에 여기 이 수레 아래에 붙박여 있고 앞으로 불행하게 살게 되겠구나.

 

(The clock hits twelve, and the wheel turns into Prince.)

(시계가 12시를 치자 바퀴가 왕자로 바뀐다.)

 

Prince: I can’t believe this. Thank you for giving me a second chance.

왕자: 믿을 수가 없네. 두 번째 기회를 주셔서 감사합니다.

 

Now I know how I should live my life. (Goes out)

이제 나는 내 인생을 어떻게 살아야 할지 알겠어. (퇴장한다)

 

Fairy: (Waving her hand) You learned a good lesson. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

요정: (손을 흔들며) 좋은 교훈을 배웠군요. 행운을 빌어요.

 

Scene 3: In the Frog Prince’s house

장면 3: 개구리 왕자의 집 안에서

(Prince runs in, smiling.)

(왕자가 미소를 지으며 뛰어 들어온다.)

 

Princess: Where have you been? I’ve been worried. Your clothes are a mess.

공주: 어디에 있었어요? 걱정했잖아요. 옷이 엉망진창이네요.

 

Prince: (Looking at Princess) You believed me when no one else in the world did.

왕자: (공주를 바라보며) 당신은 세상 어느 누구도 나를 믿지 않을 때 나를 믿어 주었어요.

 

You loved me even when I was a frog.

당신은 내가 개구리일 때조차도 나를 사랑해 주었죠.

 

From now on, I will make you happier.

이제부터는 내가 당신을 더 행복하게 해 줄게요.

 

Princess: I’m glad to hear that. I’ll make you even happier.

공주: 그 말을 들으니 기뻐요. 제가 당신을 훨씬 더 행복하게 해 줄게요.

 

Prince: Great! I’m looking forward to our bright future. Ha-ha‧‧‧.

왕자: 좋아요! 난 우리의 밝은 미래를 기대할게요. 하하‧‧‧.

 

(They run to the pond together, jumping hand in hand.)

(그들은 서로 손을 잡고 함께 연못으로 뛰어간다.)
