Scene 1: In front of Mrs. Fox’s house

(On the stage Mrs. Fox is carrying a box. Mr. and Mrs. Stork come in.)

(무대에서 Fox 부인이 상자 하나를 나르고 있다. Stork 부부가 등장한다.)

 

Mrs. Stork: Hello. How are you doing?

Stork 부인: 안녕하세요. 어떻게 지내세요?

 

Mrs. Fox: Great, thanks. You live in this town, don’t you?

Fox 부인: 잘 지내요, 감사해요. 이 마을에 사시죠, 그렇죠?

 

Mrs. Stork: Yes. I’m Ann Stork. I live next door.

Stork 부인: 네. 저는 Ann Stork예요. 저는 옆집에 살아요.

 

This is my husband, Bill Stork.

이쪽은 제 남편 Bill Stork예요.

 

Mrs. Fox: Nice to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Stork.

Fox 부인: 만나서 반가워요, Stork 씨, Stork 부인.

 

I’m Carol Fox. I just moved in.

저는 Carol Fox예요. 이제 막 이사를 왔죠.

 

Mr. Stork: Welcome to our village, Carol.

Stork 씨: 우리 마을에 오신 것을 환영해요, Carol 씨.

 

Can I give you a hand?

제가 도와 드릴까요?

 

Mrs. Fox: Yes, please help me with this box. Thank you so much.

Fox 부인: 네, 제가 이 상자를 나르는 것을 도와주세요. 정말 감사해요.

 

Mr. Stork: My pleasure.

Stork 씨: 별말씀을요.

 

(They enter the house.)

(그들은 집으로 들어간다.)

 

 

Scene 2: In Mrs. Fox’s house

장면 2: Fox 부인의 집 안

 

Mrs. Fox: Mr. and Mrs. Stork, please meet my husband, David.

Fox 부인: Stork 씨, Stork 부인, 제 남편 David를 만나 보세요.

 

Honey, this is Mr. and Mrs. Stork. They live next door.

여보, Stork 씨와 Stork 부인이에요. 그들은 옆집에 사세요.

 

Mr. Fox: Nice to meet you.

Fox 씨: 만나서 반갑습니다.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Stork: Hello. Nice to meet you, too.

Stork 부부: 안녕하세요. 저희도 만나서 반갑습니다.

 

Mrs. Fox: Mr. and Mrs. Stork, would you like some soup?

Fox 부인: Stork 씨, Stork 부인, 수프 좀 드시겠어요?

 

Mr. Fox: My wife’s chicken soup is really great!

Fox 씨: 제 아내의 닭고기 수프는 정말 훌륭하답니다!

 

Mr. and Mrs. Stork: Yes, please. We’re a little hungry.

Stork 부부: 네, 주세요. 저희는 약간 배가 고파요.

 

(They all have a seat together.)

(그들은 모두 함께 앉아 있다.)

 

Mrs. Fox: (Putting soup plates in front of Mr. and Mrs. Stork) Please enjoy.

Fox 부인: (Stork 부부 앞에 수프 접시를 놓으며) 맛있게 드세요.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Stork: This smells nice, but .... (Mr. and Mrs. Stork can’t eat from the plate.)

Stork 부부: 이것은 냄새가 좋아요, 하지만⋯. (Stork 부부는 접시에 있는 음식을 먹을 수 없다.)

 

Mr. Fox: I’m so sorry.

Fox 씨: 정말 죄송해요.

 

(To Mrs. Fox) Honey, do we have any bowls or bottles?

(Fox 부인에게) 여보, 우리에게 다른 그릇이나 병이 있나요?

 

Mrs. Fox: We only have plates. I’m so sorry.

Fox 부인: 우리는 접시밖에 없어요. 정말 죄송해요.

 

Mr. Stork: That’s okay. I enjoyed the nice smell of your soup.

Stork 씨: 괜찮습니다. 저는 수프의 맛있는 냄새를 잘 맡았어요.

 

Mrs. Stork: Me, too. Well .... Will you come to our house for dinner tomorrow?

Stork 부인: 저도 그래요. 음⋯. 내일 저희 집에 저녁 식사를 하러 오시겠어요?

 

Mr. Fox: Sounds great.

Fox 씨: 좋아요.

 

Mrs. Fox: Why not? Thanks.

Fox 부인: 그럴게요. 감사해요.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Stork: Okay. See you tomorrow.

Stork 부부: 좋아요. 내일 봬요.

 

(Mr. and Mrs. Stork go out.)

(Stork 부부가 퇴장한다.)

 

Scene 3: In Mr. and Mrs. Stork’s house

장면 3: Stork 부부의 집 안

 

 

(There are plates and bottles on the shelf. Mr. Stork puts some fish soup on the plates in front of Mr. and Mrs. Fox.)

(선반에 접시들과 병들이 있다. Stork 씨는 Fox 부부 앞에 있는 접시들에 약간의 생선 수프를 담는다.)

 

Mr. Fox: I love these nice plates.

Fox 씨: 저는 이 멋진 접시들이 정말 마음에 들어요.

 

Mr. Stork: I bought them for you.

Stork 부인: 여러분을 위해 제가 그것을 샀답니다.

 

Mrs. Fox: You’re so kind.

Fox 부인: 정말 친절하시네요.

 

I want to buy some bottles for you, too.

저도 여러분을 위해 병을 좀 사고 싶어요.

 

Mrs. Stork: Why don’t we go to Mr. Monkey’s shop together?

Stork 부인: 함께 Monkey 씨의 상점에 가는 게 어때요?

 

Mrs. Fox: That’s a good idea.

Fox 부인: 좋은 생각이에요.

 

Mr. Fox: You will taste Carol’s delicious chicken soup soon!

Fox 씨: Carol의 맛있는 닭고기 수프를 곧 맛보시게 될 거예요!

 

Mr. Stork: I can’t wait.

Stork 씨: 몹시 기다려져요.

 

(They all laugh out loud.)
