눈송이들

 

Dear Tom, Thanks for the teddy bear.

Your sister, Lily.

Tom 오빠에게, 곰돌이 인형 고마워.

여동생 Lily가

8 A.M. at Home

오전 8시, 집

 

 

Tom found a paper snowflake on his desk.

Tom은 그의 책상 위에서 종이 눈송이를 하나 발견했다.

 

He said to himself, “Ah, a thank-you note from Lily. How pretty!”

그는 “아, Lily가 준 감사 카드네. 정말 예쁘다!”라고 혼잣말을 했다.

 

He put it in his pocket.

그는 그것을 자신의 주머니에 넣었다.

 

Lunchtime at School Tom saw a photo on Sally’s desk.

점심시간, 학교 Tom은 Sally의 책상 위에서 사진 한 장을 보았다.

 

It was a photo of Sally and a boy at the hospital.

그것은 병원에 있는 Sally와 한 소년의 사진이었다.

 

Sally was a new student and Tom wanted to be friends with her.

“Who is this boy?” asked Tom.

“He is my brother, Bill,” said Sally.

Tom said, “I feel sorry for him. He will get better soon.”

Tom은 “그 애가 안됐구나. 그는 곧 회복될 거야.”라고 말했다.

 

3 P.M. at the Hospital

오후 3시, 병원

 

 

Tom counted, “316, 317 ... Here it is.”

Tom은 “316, 317 ⋯ 여기 있네.”라고 수를 세었다.

 

When he knocked on the door of Room 318, a weak voice called, “Come in.”

그가 318호의 문을 두드렸을 때, 힘없는 목소리가 “들어오세요.”라고 말했다.

 

“Hi, how are you?” asked Tom.

“안녕, 기분은 어때?”라고 Tom이 물었다.

 

“I’m bored,” said Bill.

“I’m really bored.”

“Why don’t we play a game?” said Tom.

“우리 게임을 할까?”라고 Tom이 말했다.

 

“No.” Bill shook his head.

“아니.” Bill은 고개를 저었다.

 

“I play games every day. Games are boring!” complained Bill.

“나는 매일 게임을 해. 게임은 지루해!”라고 Bill이 불평을 했다.

 

Tom thought for a moment.

Tom은 잠깐 생각했다.

 

When he put his hand in his pocket, he felt the paper snowflake.

그가 그의 주머니에 손을 넣었을 때, 그 종이 눈송이가 느껴졌다.

 

He taped it to the window.

그는 그것을 창문에 테이프로 붙였다.

 

 

He said, “Hey, look! It’s snowing!”

그는 “얘, 저기 봐! 눈이 오고 있어!”라고 말했다.

 

When Bill saw the snowflake, his face became bright.

“How pretty! How did you make it?”

They began to make lots of snowflakes and put them on all the walls and windows.

Suddenly, Bill shouted, “Look! Real snowflakes are falling outside!

What a wonderful day!”

The Next Morning at School

다음 날 오전, 학교에서

 

Sally came to Tom and said, “Lily is your sister, isn’t she?”

Sally가 Tom에게 와서 “Lily가 네 여동생이지, 그렇지?”라고 말했다.

 

“That’s strange. How did you know?” asked Tom.

“이상하다. 어떻게 알았어?”라고 Tom이 물었다.

 

Sally gave him Lily’s snowflake.

Sally는 그에게 Lily의 눈송이를 주었다.

 

Tom smiled and asked, “How is Bill doing today?”

Tom은 미소를 지으며 “Bill은 오늘 좀 어때?”라고 물었다.

 

“He’s okay. He will be back home this afternoon,” said Sally.

“그는 괜찮아. 그는 오늘 오후에 집으로 돌아올 거야.”라고 Sally가 말했다.

 

“Glad to hear that. I want to see him again,” said Tom.

“그 말을 들으니 기뻐. 나는 그를 다시 보고 싶어.”라고 Tom이 말했다.

 

“Please come to my house and play in the snow with Bill,” said, Sally.

“우리 집에 와서 Bill과 함께 눈 속에서 놀아.”라고 Sally가 말했다.

 

“That sounds great!” said Tom with joy.

“그거 좋은데!”라고 Tom이 기뻐하며 말했다.
