A Tasty Painting

맛있는 그림

 

 

“Paint the most beautiful thing in the world to you.

“여러분에게 세상에서 가장 아름다운 것을 그리세요.

 

The art show is coming,” said the art teacher.

미술 전시회가 다가오고 있어요.”라고 미술 선생님께서 말씀하셨다.

 

“What’s the most beautiful thing to me?”

“나에게 가장 아름다운 것은 뭘까?”

 

Nicole thought for hours, but she didn’t have any good ideas.

Nicole은 몇 시간 동안 생각했지만, 좋은 생각이 떠오르지 않았다.

 

It was getting cooler outside.

바깥 날씨가 점점 더 서늘해지고 있었다.

 

Nicole was on her way to her mother’s small bakery.

Nicole은 어머니의 작은 제과점으로 가고 있는 중이었다.

 

A yellow leaf fell from a tree.

노란 나뭇잎 하나가 나무에서 떨어졌다.

 

 

She picked it up and looked at it for a while.

그녀는 그것을 집어 들고 잠시 동안 그것을 바라보았다.

 

Over the leaf, she saw her mother.

나뭇잎 너머로 그녀는 어머니를 보았다.

 

She was working in the shop.

Nicole smiled the happiest smile.

“That’s beautiful. I’m going to paint this scene!”

She ran upstairs to her room and started to paint on a canvas.

She drew the pretty leaf, the shop, and her mother.

“I don’t like it. Something’s missing,” she thought.

On Saturday morning, she was helping her mother.

토요일 아침에 그녀는 어머니를 돕고 있었다.

 

Nicole liked decorating her mother’s cupcakes, and people loved her designs.

Nicole은 어머니의 컵케이크를 장식하는 것을 좋아했고, 사람들은 그녀의 디자인을 아주 좋아했다.

 

Today she was drawing animals with white chocolate on small cupcakes.

오늘 그녀는 작은 컵케이크 위에 화이트 초콜릿으로 동물을 그리고 있었다.

 

Suddenly, she had an idea.

갑자기, 그녀에게 어떤 생각이 떠올랐다.

 

“That’s it!” she shouted.

“바로 그거야!”라고 그녀는 소리쳤다.

 

 

She made a very large cupcake.

그녀는 아주 커다란 컵케이크를 만들었다.

 

Then she drew the leaf, the shop, and her mother again on the cupcake.

그러고 나서 그녀는 그 컵케이크 위에 다시 나뭇잎과 가게, 그리고 어머니를 그렸다.

 

“That’s the most wonderful cupcake in the world!” said her mother.

“그건 세상에서 가장 멋진 컵케이크야!”라고 어머니께서 말씀하셨다.

 

At the art show, Nicole’s work of art surprised her friends and teachers.

미술 전시회에서, Nicole의 미술 작품은 그녀의 친구들과 선생님들을 놀라게 했다.

 

She won first prize among the students.

그녀는 학생들 중에서 일등상을 받았다.

 

After the show, Nicole served her art project to everyone.

전시회 후에, Nicole은 그녀의 미술 과제를 모두에게 대접했다.

 

“Your cupcake looks great. It smells and tastes great, too,” said one friend, and everyone agreed.

“너의 컵케이크는 멋져 보여. 그것은 냄새와 맛도 좋아.”라고 한 친구가 말했고 모두가 동의했다.
