달빛 기행

Mina and Tony start a Changdeokgung Palace Moonlight Tour.

미나와 Tony는 창덕궁 달빛 기행을 시작합니다.

 

A guide gives Tony a cheongsachorong.

해설사가 Tony에게 청사초롱을 줍니다.

 

Tony: What’s this? It’s so beautiful.

Tony: 이게 뭐야? 정말 아름다워.

 

Mina: It’s a cheongsachorong, a traditional Korean lantern.

미나: 한국 전통 등인 청사초롱이야.

 

People in the Joseon Dynasty used it at a wedding.

조선 시대 사람들이 결혼식에 사용했어.

 

At Donhwamun, the Main Gate of the Palace

창덕궁 정문인 돈화문에서

 

Tony: What a great palace!

Tony: 멋진 궁이구나!

 

Mina: Yes. King Taejong of the Joseon Dynasty built it in 1405 as a secondary palace.

미나: 맞아. 조선 왕조의 태종이 1405년에 이궁으로 건립했어.

 

Tony: Wow! It’s over 600 years old.

Tony: 와! 600년이 넘었네.

 

Guide: Many kings loved to stay in this palace.

해설사: 많은 왕들이 이 궁에 머무는 것을 좋아했습니다.

 

In Injeongjeon, the Throne Hall

정전인 인정전에서

 

Guide: This is the main hall of the palace.

해설사: 이것이 궁의 본관입니다.

 

Kings and officials gathered here for important national events.

왕과 관리들이 국가의 중요 행사를 위해 이곳에 모였지요.

 

Tony: Look at the king’s chair! How wonderful it is!

Tony: 왕의 의자를 봐! 정말 멋지다!

 

What are those stones over there?

저쪽에 있는 저 돌들은 뭐지?

 

Mina: They are pumgyeseoks.

미나: 그것들은 품계석이야.

 

Officials stood behind them according to their rank.

관리들은 그들의 지위에 따라 품계석 뒤에 섰지.

 

In Huwon, the Garden in the Back

뒤쪽의 정원인 후원에서

 

Tony: Look at the moon in the pond! It’s fantastic.

Tony: 연못에 있는 달을 봐! 정말 환상적이다.

 

Mina: It’s Buyongji. The royal family rested in this area.

미나: 그 연못이 부용지야. 왕족들은 이곳에서 휴식을 취했어.

 

They also wrote poems and held parties here.

또 이곳에서 시를 쓰고 파티를 열었지.

 

Guide: Let’s walk through the woods.

해설사: 숲으로 걸어가 봅시다.

 

The royal family enjoyed outdoor activities here.

왕족들은 이곳에서 야외 활동을 즐겼습니다.

 

They shot arrows and rode horses.

그들은 활을 쏘고 말을 탔어요.

 

Mina: Huwon is in harmony with nature.

미나: 후원은 자연과 조화를 이루고 있어.

 

So, many people visit here and enjoy the beauty of this garden.

그래서 많은 사람들이 이곳을 방문하고 이 정원의 아름다움을 즐기지.

 

Tony: What a beautiful garden it is!

Tony: 정말 아름다운 정원이구나!

 

I will show my parents this garden someday.

언젠가 나의 부모님께도 이 정원을 보여 드릴 거야.
